Setting Up Your New TCd1 Studio Quality Dynamic Microphone! Thanks so much for your purchase!
Please scroll down for both video and printed step by step instructions for your TSc1. Remember this is a 3D printed mic. Please follow the steps below to setup your mic without damaging any of the components. |
Instructions For Use:
Please continue down the page for print instructions.
Step 2:Pass both elastics over the stand mount arm together. Pull one toward the TreeCave Logo (front) and loop the elastic to the anchor. Repeat the process with the other elastic toward the back.
It is important to orient the shock mount this way as it is slightly larger on one side to accommodate the mic shape. |
Step 3:Thread the shock mount on to your mic stand, boom or scissor arm.
If the threads are too loose:
Get a strip of electrical, masking, painters, or silicone tape and wrap the threads of your stand where the mic attaches. One complete wrap should cause the threads to bite. If not wrap till you create a secure fit. If the threads are too tight:
Line your threads on as much as you can then use a 3/4" SAE or adjustable wrench to thread the shock mount on the rest of the way. The threads on your stand will recut the threads inside. If you have a removable bushing adaptor or reducer on your stand, often found on scissor arms, remove the bushing from the stand or arm. Holding the shock mount in one hand use a quarter to thread the bushing reducer into the holder. This will recut the threads on the shock mount. Now, with the reducer bushing inside, thread the whole assembly back on the stand/arm. |
|
Step 5:Pass the tapered end of the mic through the front side of the shock mount making sure to also pass through both sets of elastic bands.
Loop the band through the remaining retention hooks on both sides of the mic. Make sure to catch the elastic on the hooks attached to the mic chassis to ensure the mic is properly suspended. |
Step 4:Remove the mic from the box and remove grille. While holding the mic gently unthread the grille (porous shell) from the chassis (mic body) by turning gently in a counter clockwise motion.
|
Step 7:Attach a three pin xlr cable of your choosing to the jack on the back of the TCd1 and go record something awesome!
|
Step 6:While holding the entire assembly thread the mic grille back on by gently rotating in a clockwise motion until snug. DO NOT over-tighten the threads as they will snap. The outer grille posts should line up with the same shape on the chassis threads.
If yours does not line up perfectly we apologize for the print error in the threads. The mic will still operate properly and we thank you for your understanding that there are small variations in the printing process. |
